Between Hillcrest and North Park is University Heights. It has its own personality with a mix of Craftsman bungalows and apartments for housing, laid-back eateries and hip bars for food. It hosts a small retail area at the north end of Park Boulevard where it turns into Adams Avenue. The area is laden with a variety of american and ethnic restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques, artist’s studios and live entertainment. There's also nearby Trolley Park, which serves as the neighborhood playground for families.
Downtown, Balboa Park, Mission Valley, San Diego State University and the San Diego Airport are all within a few minutes given University Heights’ central location. It’s home to a diverse population who enjoy the area for its convenient location, strong sense of community, great restaurants, and unique combination of history, architecture, art, music and theatre.
